Building Community Narrative with Multimedia Storytelling
presented by Dwight Storring on June 19, 2010
This hands-on workshop tapped into participants’ skills to create a unique community narrative. Participants learned how to combine traditional and digital storytelling techniques while they explored the local environment to gather their personal stories and reflections for a short digital production.
The response to the workshop was overwhelmingly positive. Here’s what some participants had to say:
“Great! Very much appreciated.”
“Dwight was fantastic – patient, effective, supportive, etc.”
“I liked the tie-in to the Centre of Digital storytelling – it’s helpful to have a sense of knowing what’s out there and how to connect in.”
“Dwight was terrific at making the process stimulating, risk taking, rewarding and emotionally free and safe.”
“Amazing facilitator! Great materials. Wonderful program/agenda. Terrific explanations and guidance. Other participants were great at working together.”
“I liked the small number. I think more than this would have truncated what was learned.”
“[The workshop] opened up a new area of creative work/exploration.”
