Artists as Workers/Workers as Artists

As part of Toronto's Mayworks Festival, this year’s forum will look at

* how emerging artists in Ontario develop their own community art practices
* report findings from the Weaving Tapestries workshop series
* celebrating food workers
* labour and community arts collaborations
* challenges facing northern and Aboriginal artists
* community artists' strategies for survival

Taking place at FoodShare (90 Croatia St near Dufferin and Bloor) and Dufferin Grove Park, from Friday May 2 to Sunday May 4, the forum features a mobile printmaking shop, performances, readings, video screenings, photographs, book launch/readings, workshops, a talking circle, panel discussions, song, stories and poetry around the fire, and the Mayworks Festival finale concert.
